I've always prided myself on being a multitasker. It seemed like a badge of honor in a world that rewards juggling projects, emails, and conversations all at once.
Then I stumbled upon this study from Stanford, and it challenged everything I believed about my productivity. The idea that my constant shifting between tasks actually hindered my focus was unsettling.
It made me wonder: how much of our perceived efficiency is just an illusion? Perhaps, the real strength lies in our ability to single-task, to give one thing our full attention and do it well.
The Insight
True focus is less about managing distractions and more about prioritizing presence in a single moment.
