I've always thought of myself as someone who learns from past mistakes, but it's amazing how often I find myself caught in the same loops of avoidance. It's like I've set an invisible boundary around my comfort zone, and I keep defending it against imaginary threats.
My fears often feel like they are urging me to avoid risk, ensuring that I never stray too far from the safety I think I need. But the truth is, those fears are based on outdated notions of what I can and cannot handle. Time and again, it's the hesitation to face these fears that constrains me more than the risks themselves.
Realizing this, I wonder: How many decisions have I made just to stay safe, rather than to pursue growth? It's a liberating thought to know that these patterns can be changed, and that the limits are mostly self-imposed.
The Insight
The fears we avoid become the prisons we build around ourselves.
