The Happiness Pendulum

I used to think winning the lottery would solve all my problems. But then, I came across a study that made me question that assumption. Could it be that happiness isn't a steady state but a fleeting moment, like a breath of fresh air?

Reflecting on my own life, I realize that the thrill of a new gadget or a long-awaited vacation fades much faster than I expect. It's surprising how quickly the extraordinary becomes ordinary, and we're back to seeking the next high.

Still, there’s a strange comfort in knowing that neither extreme happiness nor sadness will stay forever. Perhaps the beauty of happiness lies in its impermanence, making us appreciate those fleeting moments when they arrive.
