The sky was a color I hadn’t seen before, a swirling blend of orange and purple, casting a peculiar glow over the now muted earth below. It was the last day on Earth, or at least, that's what my memory suggests. I stood by the window of my childhood home, watching the world as it seemed to hold its breath.
