Reflection

For the longest time, I believed that being resilient meant being tough, like a rock in a storm. But storms are unpredictable, and rocks can crack. When life's pressures mounted, I found myself breaking rather than bending, and it was exhausting.

Reading about how perception shapes our response to stress made me rethink my approach. Viewing stress as an opportunity rather than a burden sounded idealistic at first, but I started to notice small shifts when I tried it. The stress didn't magically disappear, but I felt a bit more in control — like I was steering the ship rather than being tossed around.

It's liberating to realize that resilience can be more about adaptability than strength. I still have moments of doubt, but now I remind myself that it's okay to bend to the wind, trusting that I'll spring back rather than shatter.

The Insight

True resilience is not about being unbreakable but about embracing flexibility in the face of stress.
